Released March 1st into a deep sea of LGBT web series, “About Him” rises to the top one series you need to make sure you’re watching.
Writers Tyson Anthony Henderson Maddox’s scripted series take us back to back to the 90’s, during a time of “Don’t ask Don’t Tell” and homosexuality was still defined by some as “white man’s struggle”, where we meet Damien.
Damien, played by newcomer Brandon Karson, is a teenager who has come to terms with his sexuality, but realizes he lives in a world that isn’t ready to accept him as a gay Black man.
The sexual tension is so strong it’s almost tangible and the eye candy so delicious I could just watch the series on mute (I also feel inspired to go Planet Fitness).
To make matters worse for Damien his crush is brother’s best friend Vincent, played by Gary Lavard, and Vincent just might have the same feelings toward Damien.
The chemistry between Karson and Lavard is captivating and after such an intense first episode Damien and Vincent’s love story has pulled me in and earned a devoted fan from beginning to end.
With a relatable storyline and hits from artist like TLC and Busta Rhymes creating the soundtrack “About Him” knocks it out of the park.
The second episode won’t air until March 15, but can check out the first episode by clicking here.
I watch this web series and it is indeed sexy! I follow Karson on Twitter (he follows me back!) I’m excited to see where this series will go. Hopefully it can grow like BRTB’s ‘Triangle’ which is phenomenal. #Bey
