dope

Confucius said, “The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”  It’s easy to get caught up in focusing on what you have NOT done versus what you have already accomplished. We tend to be our own worst critic and though at times that critique can be motivating, it can also be detrimental if taken too far. Learn to give yourself props instead.  Because, YOU are pretty dope.

Recall a time when you may not have had the strength to ‘begin’, but you did anyway…. a time when you had a goal and you started with step one and then achieved it eventually…. a time when you were worried, but you chose faith instead and you overcame….and the list goes on.

dope Friday Inspiration: Acknowledge How Dope You Are dope

There are probably so many instances where you got out of your own way and did something courageous. That’s how DOPE you really are.

Choose to recall those moments and allow yourself to bask in the fact that you made great progress instead of focusing on what you have not done. Have faith that you will go even farther because you can and you certainly will. When you acknowledge how far you have come and how dope you REALLY are, you are also taking responsibility for what you have co-created in your life and that’s a GOOD thing.

Be gentle with yourself, and don’t forget to pat yourself on the back in the process!

Transformation Tips:

  • Make a list of your successes in the last 3 months.
  • Consciously create that list and after reading each item, take a moment to really FEEL proud of yourself. Breathe that in. Don’t rush through it. Be deliberate about acknowledging each item and the pride you feel that YOU did that.
  • Give yourself a small reward. When was the last time you bought yourself a little something as a reward for a job well done? It doesn’t have to be expensive, but you should treat yourself to something. Remind yourself that you DESERVE to feel special and you DESERVE to be acknowledged. You don’t have to wait for anyone else to say, “great job!” — tell YOURSELF “great job!” and give yourself a little something to commemorate the occasion.
